So it's the last game of the season for Peyton, can't hardly believe it is the end of July already! The summer is going by way too fast as usual! The weather here in Wisconsin seems to be raining almost every other day! Mowing the lawn has become a never ending battle and the kids have come to expect lots of puddles to play in no matter where we go! It is not only the last baseball game of the season for my oldest grandson, it turns out that it has also been the final days for my mom who has been suffering from Alzheimers for more than 5 years now. She passed away Friday in her sleep, finally, and by finally I not only mean finally after 5 years of not recognizing any of us but also finally after a week of my sister and I watching her suffer trying to breath and having one seizure after another. It's a relief to know that she is at peace at last.

Puppies,Parades and Ball Games
Our daughter and her husband have a litter of purebred lab puppies...8 of them! And all different colors, cream, gold, brown and black! So if anyone is looking for a nice puppy feel free to let me know!
Meg: "I found the cutest Great Dane puppy!"
Me: Dad says "NO!"
Meg: "But she's so cute and only $200"
Me: "NO!"
Then I get a picture sent to me on my phone of the puppy!
Me: "Again your dad says NO!"
Meg: "I promise you won't have to take care of it...ever!"
Me: "Dad says if you move you have to take the dog, if we move we are NOT taking the dog!"
And now I get a picture on my phone of Meg holding her new puppy!
So two weeks of listening to Randy complain about having this "dog" in the house Meg tells me she is sitting on the couch with Baya sitting by her and Randy walks in and asks "So you going to the game too?" Meg answers "Not sure" Randy says " I was talking to the dog" Welcome to your new home Baya!

Rustic Hickory Cabinets
Today I am posting pictures of very rustic hickory cabinets. These cabinets do have a light brown stain on them, but notice how much more variation of color there is and also the knots in the doors. I personally love this type of wood and not just in hickory, all types of wood. I just love the real dark swirls and knots, just makes for such an interesting look!
These cabinets were done for a cousin of Randy's in Iowa. They are doing sooo much work on this older home that they have and it just gets more beautiful with every visit we make. Thanks so much to C and E for letting us take pictures. We went down for pictures and were able to spend some time with these guys at the casino celebrating C's birthday. Randy and I don't go to the casinos much, probably because we never win and this trip was no different, but it's always fun to try. We also went over to Des Moines to visit an uncle of Randy's who is in the hospital. It was very good to see everyone and to hear that his uncle is doing really well. So it was a very enjoyable trip to Iowa.
