Rothenburg, Germany

We have been in Rothenburg, Germany three days and what an adventure! We left Venice and took a train ride north for 7 hours. Sounds crazy but it was beautiful! A good part of it went through a part of the Alps! Gorgeous! We had to change trains 4 times, that was interesting, but they were all on time luckily and it all went very smoothly. One short part when we were in our own small room type seating three young border patrol police joined us. Very nice and interesting. They told us how they ride 5 different trains every day looking for refugees sneaking into Germany from Italy. A problem that has gotten worse the last few years. And then we arrived in Rothenburg! A small medieval town in the middle of Germany! Beautiful, peaceful and full of unbelievably nice locals! Hope you enjoy the pictures!

Our view as we are walking from our apartment up to the town.

This is a pear tree! All over this town there are apple and pear trees up against the buildings!

Vines all over

This is a farm, The house is on the left and the barn is on the right.

Many of the stores or cafes open their windows to serve drinks, pastries and ice cream

I love all the tile roofs!

This wall surrounds the whole city

Inside one of the bigger towers

Foot bridges everywhere

Our foot path to our apartment, a bit of a climb but gorgeous!
