Library

We have been lucky enough to be able to do some work for our local library. Wonderful library and wonderful people to do the work for. I was babysitting so Randy took these pictures and he is very proud of them! "Did a good job didn't I?" he says. Yep, they look great (after I showed him how to turn on the camera!) LOL!

Gun Cabinet

Randy thought I better post just the gun cabinet he built, might have gotten a little lost in one of my previous posts. This gun cabinet was going to be Randy's and as beautiful as it is it really isn't a good idea in our house, at least not right now. We have many.....and I repeat MANY small hands that love to try to get into things and this is one thing we don't want them into. Even with locks on the drawers and doors we felt better getting a gun safe for all of Randy's rifles. So this worked out perfectly for him to finish this cabinet for a very worthy cause for the Willard Memorial Tournament. They raffled it off and made some money for a scholarship in Andrew Sandeliers name. So glad we could help and be a part of it.
This gun cabinet holds 12 rifles, is made of maple with a 2 part dye and stain with a satin finish. If anyone has any questions on a price for this one or a different size please just give Randy a call or feel free to email, we can also make it in many other different types of wood and stain colors. And I almost forgot we have Randy's sister do glass etching so that is available too! Ress's Flowers-N-Glass!

Randy's sister Pam asked him to make 2 small work benches for her grandsons, so as long as he is making 2 he might as well make one more for one of our grandsons! So Tayt got a work bench for Xmas! This is Luke modeling, Tayt refused! He likes the bench just not getting his picture taken!

Library Cabinets

Cabinets above the doors that are going to be used for storing huge notebooks that document all the events that the library does. The librarian told us it used to take only one notebook a year but they are now up to four a year! Very busy little library.

We have been very slow this summer with woodworking jobs so it was nice to get this job for our library here in Colby.Everything is solid oak and the stain was matched to the existing cabinets. It is such a nice library and is growing every year so the need for more shelving and storage was a must. Thank you Colby Library for letting us help you out!

Cherry Bar

These pictures are of a bar we did 8 years ago for a very nice couple. She is thinking of adding to it a little so I thought I would take some pictures of it now. The owner is thinking about adding some cabinetry around the mirror, maybe replacing the mirror for a smaller one, adding some stain glass, maybe incorporating a valance above the mirror connecting the cabinets and putting some hide away doors in front of the TV. Can't wait to see what ideas she comes up with, she will be sending us some pictures when she decides exactly what all she wants to do. This lady has some awesome taste, can't wait to see what she decides on.

Entertainment Center Finished!

This is a Quarter Sawn Oak entertainment center. It is 82" long by 72" high. Randy built it in 4 sections, the middle section that the TV is sitting on, the 2 tall outer sections on either side of the TV and the top which is crown molding that spans the intire length. Behind the glass doors are glass shelves and you can't see them but there are can lights up in the crown molding piece that will shine down thru the glass shelves.

Mantle and Entry Door in Iowa!

Since the 30th of August we have been working on two jobs and not small jobs I might add. The kitchen and wet bar in the last post and this post which consists of all the pictures below and more which I didn't take pictures of. The home which we did this mantle and front door in we also did a Quarter Sawn Oak Kitchen, see previous posts. This family has had a lot of problems this summer with their air conditioning and it ended up warping all the trim in their newly renovated basement. So they asked us to come down and replace all the trim around the windows and doors and all of the base trim. As we were discussing and planning when to go down to fix everything the upstairs new addition started having the same problems. So we ended up not only doing the basement but also the upstairs addition as well. Just a side note, whenever varnishing anything always remember to varnish/seal the wood on all sides otherwise this is what happens, the wood sucks up the moisture on the unsealed side and begins to warp and twist causing tons of problems! From the upstairs new addition we moved into the living room and the entry way. The existing mantle was also damaged so we built a new one almost like the old one but Randy added a few new things and we built a new entry door. This door is not bought from anywhere Randy built the whole thing, side panels, door and frame. We also did some work for another family in town, some small trimming in of windows and doors, hung two closet doors, fixed some older doors in the home and built two cherry benches for them to match their dinning room set. This family has 6 children and his work is taking them to Germany for 3 years so they were trying to get the house in order so that they can lease it out while they are gone. So needless to say we have had an extremely busy 10 weeks and we are very glad to be back home and done with jobs for a little while. Randy is especially happy because deer hunting is starting this weekend and he always looks forward to that. I also have to give my husband a lot of credit for how much work he has gotten done in these last few months because he also holds down a 40 hour a week job at a door plant here in town. So he is very happy to be looking forward to some time off to go chase some deer and hopefully bag a big buck. Black Hutch and Oak Kitchen

Here is the finished black hutch. It is approximately 8 feet tall by about 8 feet long. It sure looks pretty with all the Fall decorations on it! It is made from solid maple, painted black, edges sanded for an aged look and then varnished. It has 3/4" adjustable shelving and dovetailed drawers.

We also made this same customers oak kitchen about 9 years ago. Thanks so much for allowing us to take pictures!
